Key of D tuned(D3, A3, D4 D4)
This lute dulcimer has a 1 ½, a 6 & 6 ½ frets, and an 8 ½ fret. Mountain dulcimer players will probably be familiar with these additional frets which will allow for an expanded set of chord and note possibilities.
When following along with tablature in the Wild Sparrow Booklet or other music you’ll skip the 1 ½, 6, and 8 ½ notations (looking at the fretboard you’ll see sets of three groups of three close frets, you would be skipping the first of these three).
Wood Species: kiaat soundboard; walnut neck, headstock, and sound hole ring; maple centerpiece; cherry fretboard; oak sides
Centerpiece: handcut Pegasus
Sound sample at 2:13
